Article Submission Guidelines

 The articles submitted for publication should be sent to the following address: mravaltavi@manuscript.ge.

Authors should submit only original work that is not plagiarized, and has not been published (print or electronic) or being considered elsewhere.

Papers submitted by both researchers and doctoral students will be accepted for consideration. Copyrights for articles published in this journal are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal.

“Mravaltavi” is a peer-reviewed edition. All articles are reviewed by an editor, members of the Editorial Board or qualified outside reviewers. We use a double–blind system for peer review; both reviewers’ and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The submitted paper will be reviewed by at least two experts: one editor as well as an external reviewer.

As a result of the review process, articles will be evaluated as follows:

  • Accepted
  • Accepted with revision
  • Rejected or declined.

All authors will receive the relevant notification. The author is obliged to take into account the remarks of the reviewers and, if necessary, to revise the article.

 

Formatting Guide

  1. The article should be submitted as a MS Word file.
  2. The first page should indicate the author’s name, surname, telephone, e-mail. Email address. Please note that the author’s e-mail in the publication. The email address will be listed at the end of the article.
  3. For Georgian text use AcadNusx font.
  4. Use Unicode Font for Ancient Greek.
  5. The length of the article should not exceed 7,500 words.
  6. The article should be accompanied by a summary, the volume of which should be from 300 to 900 words.

 

Bibliographic references

  1. The bibliographic reference in the article should be presented on the same page, in the form of a foo References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.
  2. Reference given in the article should be of the short type: surname – comma – the title of the article or monograph in abbreviated form (Italic) – comma – pp. / S. – Relevant pages:

Richard, Anastase le Sinaïte, pp. 29–42.

  1. If there are two authors, the surnames of the authors should be separated by a hyphen:

Roosen – Van Deun, Les collections, p. 55–60.

  1. If there are more than three authors or editors, list the first author’s name followed by et al.

  1. Text edition should be indicated as follows: surname of editor (ed.) – comma – author of the text or the title of the text (if author is not known) in Italic – comma – pp. / S. – relevant pages:

  1. Indication of manuscript: A–57; S–1463.
  2. In the text the footnote number should be attached directly to the word with no gap.

F.e.: A historical person1 of the last decade is mentioned there.

  1. If a word or phrase with a footnote is followed by a punctuation mark, the footnote number should set after a punctuation mark.

F.e.: These four sign are attested in the numerous Greek manuscripts.1

 

Bibliography

The article should be accompanied at the end by a complete bibliography of used scientific literature sorted by alphabet, first Georgian scientific literature, then foreign (European and Russian together).
